Shawill Eyeliners

Finally, the order that I placed via Shopee arrived after a few days, and now I will be able to give some reviews, tips, and trivia about these eyeliners.

I consider eyeliner as one of the staple makeup product. Believe it or not, I used to go out without a lipstick, but I cannot step out of the house without wearing an eyeliner. I started wearing eyeliner back in college, and most of the time, an eyeliner is the only cosmetic product that I wear.

eyeliners
eyeliner is life! Here are some of my eyeliners that I am currently using. I now this is not much because eyeliners expire in six months.

Shawill eyeliners are some of the most decent product for its price. I got three eyeliner products: pen type, liquid eyeliner, and the gel liner (that comes with eyebrow powder).

Shawill eyeliner A2

The pen eyeliner, liquid eyeliner with brush/dip type applicator, and the gel eyeliner that comes with eyebrow powder and a tiny little brush.

First, the pen type eyeliner.

The package says 24-hour ultra black waterproof volumizing eyeliner pen. Among the three products,  this one is the most recently acquired. It is being sold for P99 but I got this for P69 during a Shawill sale at Shopee.  The first thing I noticed is how the typeface of the word “Sleak” is identifiable with “Sleek” makeup’s branding. It is glossy, dries a bit slow, does not transfer much. Application is a quite harder that the usual pen type liner as a lot of product comes off when swiped, so I suggest to be easy peasy in application.

liquid 2
The Shawill eyeliner that I got from a mall was stored unused for months.

In comparison to the pen type, the liquid eyeliner is harder to apply. I am not sure though if I got an old stock. I bought one from SM Department store for P120 (something) and I did not open the product immediately. It dries really fast, in all aspects – application and the product itself. I feel that despite its affordable price, I was not able to get value for money. I was able to use it for about 5 times before it became to “unruly” and I finally gave up.  Going back to the “old times” when me and this product are doing okay, I can still say that I stick with it through thick or thin, as sometimes, I really have a hard time applying the eyeliner because of its viscosity, it is too thick! But once it dried up, it is transfer-proof and smudge-proof, and because of the thickness, you can peel it off your eyelids when you are ready to take-off your makeup.

gel 2
The Shawill gel liner comes with eyebrow powder  and a tiny brush.

As a fan of bargains and promotions, I immediately ordered products when Shawill launched in Shopee and offered 50% discount. I got this gel liner for P99; original price is P198. This comes in a container with two segments, the upper part has eyebrow powder, while the lower has the gel liner. What I immediately notice is the packaging is comparable in size and structure to the Bobbie Brown concealer and powder combo.

The size and the type of Shawill gel liner and eyebrow powder and Bobbi Brown concealer and powder is almost identical, yet the BB packaging feels more sturdy.

For application, I used a pointed lip brush instead of the included small brush, and I used tape. I did not go heavy on the application because this product dries very slowly. Also I am just going out for some errands at that time. With regards to transfer and smudging, yes, it does transfer so you might have to build it really thinly and slowly. Also make sure that you applied eyelid primer before your eye shadow because oil will make it transfer more and product will smudge in the crease area.

Almost all three Shawill eyeliner products are glossy but the gel liner is the least glossy.  If I were to repurchase just one product, I would say that I will prefer the gel liner. Yes, it does smudge and needs above average “eyelining skills”, but I have seen better pen and liquid eyeliner. (My current affordable favorite pen liner is Maybelline, while my liquid eyeliner category goes out to ELF). But for someone who is in tight budget, I think these items will suit best.

Hopefully, I was able to help anyone with my review and my makeup experience of this affordable makeup brand Shawill.
